The elusive Visa

Just had some great news. Received a text message from one of my travelling companions, I quote "Pack your f****** bags". So I hastily phoned him and found out that he has received his emigration visa for Australia so there's nothing holding us back now. He and his girlfriend now need to hand in their notices at work, which unfortunately is a month for them both so we are looking at a departure in early March - I'm so excited!! Now need to get really busy organising everything - did I tell you I was really excited?

I just saw on the local news a guy called Richard who was travelling and crashed a motorbike in Thailand. He was caught without insurance so spent his lifesavings on treatment! He didn't have enough money to get him back home. The people of Kent stepped in and raised the 5 grand to get him home and he is now in Canterbury hospital still suffering with the effects of damage to his brain, he has a long road of recovery in front of him. Richard, we wish you a speedy and full recovery.

Delays

I went to see one of my travelling pals last night. His other half is on a 5 day training course in Mexico - great work if you can get it eh? Anyway, he is still waiting on news on his Aussie visa and will need to work a months notice before we can go, so it looks like it's now going to be more like March than Feb. It was cool though, we continued making plans in his other halfs abscence!? Supped a few bevvies followed by the obligatory Kebab and just generally got more excited about the upcoming adventure. Bring it on!

Injections

What a farce! The travel nurse that can't give you all the jabs you need!
I did get a Typhoid booster and a Hep A booster for free but they didn't have the facility to give me a Hep B, Japenese encephilytis & Rabies boosters even though I was willing to pay for them - what a waste of time!

Old friend

Just heard from my old mate Adam, he's going to Vietnam in March for 5 weeks so let's hope we can meet up somewhere in South East Asia for a bevvy!!

Travel Nurse

Well folks, this coming Friday I'll be visiting the travel nurse with my vaccination record in hand to see if I need any boosters for the upcoming trip! We still have no flights booked yet so I suspect it's all gonna be a last minute dash out of the country. At least the wheels are in motion and it shouldn't be too long before i'm chilling out on a beach in Thailand!
